Visa Applicants Planning To Engage In Technology-Related Business Or Study While In The United States
The visa applications of applicants involved in technical or scientific fields may require additional administrative processing of approximately four to six weeks after the time of interview. Therefore, applicants who believe they may be affected by this requirement should apply as early as possible. In addition to the required DS-156, DS-157, and DS-158 application forms, such applicants should bring the following:
- Resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
- List of any publications
- Summary of past research
- Detailed description, including the practical application, of ongoing or future research, work, or activities in the U.S.
- Detailed travel itinerary, including complete contact information of advisors, sponsors, or associates in the U.S.
- List of all accompanying travelers, including both family members and colleagues
The above information should be in English. Applicants also should be ready to answer specific questions during the interview about their plans in the United States.
