Non-Immigrant Visas
Visa Denials
A visa denial cannot be appealed. However, if you have been refused previously and your situation has changed significantly from the time of your interview, you are welcome to reapply. Contrary to popular belief, there are no quotas that exist for the issuance or refusal of Student or Visitor visas. Consular officers may approve visas for as many people as are qualified. Visas are refused when people are not qualified to receive U.S. non-immigrant visas at the time of the interview. Unfortunately, not everyone will be qualified for a visa under United States law.
