About Bryan D. Hunt
Mr. Bryan D. Hunt joined the Department of State in 1995. Since then he has served as Desk Officer for Angola and Zimbabwe in the Bureau of African Affairs; Political Officer in Maputo, Mozambique; Consular and Commercial Officer in Gaborone, Botswana; Desk Officer for Togo, Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire in the Bureau of African Affairs; and Political, Economic, and Consular Officer in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau. Prior to his assignment in Lahore, Mr. Bryan Hunt spent two years as Political Officer at the American Embassy, Islamabad, where he worked closely with political, religious leaders and human rights representatives. He has been presented with the Department’s Superior Honor Award, Meritorious Honor Award, and Franklin Award for his work.
A native of Newport News, Virginia, Mr. Hunt joined the Department of State while doing graduate work in international development at the George Washington University. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development from the American University School of International Service in Washington, DC.
